Programs with University of Surrey in International Hospitality
and Tourism Management as well as Hi-tech Business Management

In order to meet the increasing demand for management professionals in hospitality, tourism, and business administration, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics chose University of Surrey, one of the top universites in UK, as its cooperative partner in jointly cultivating future managers in hotels, tourist agencies and institutions, as well as other modern companies. A close collaborative relationship was established between DUFE and School of Management in UniS in 2001 in which the year saw the born of the DUFE-UniS 3+2 split program in International Hospitality and Tourism Management. A year later, the foundation of another joint program in Hi-tech Business Management joined the line of speeding up and broadening out the cooperation between both parites. 3+2, 2+2, 2+2+1, more patterns are available and more goals are reachable.

Major of International Hospitality and Tourism Management

"2+2" ,"2+2+1" and "3+2" patterns are applied in cooperative programs with UniS in International Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Students who are involved in a pattern of "2+2" will be transferred to UniS after their first two-year study of English and general courses in DUFE if they match the admission requirements of our partner. Both parties will acknowledge courses offered and credits obtained unconditionally and mutually. A success in another two-year study in major courses in UniS (get necessary credits in obligatory courses) will bring them a B. A. degree with Honors in International Hospitality and Tourism Management granted by UniS as well as an undergraduate diploma and a bachelor's degree in Economics by DUFE.

"2+2+1" is a kind of extension of "2+2". Students who have obtained their bachelor's degree in "2+2" programs may choose to further their study at UniS for one year and get a master's degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Management of UniS after the completion of required courses and necessary credits."3+2" program indicates that students will spend their first three years studying at DUFE and the later two years at UniS. Meeting graduation requirements means that they are entitled to a M.A. degree in Economics in DUFE and another M.A. degree in UniS.
